Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your 3-day adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After meeting your Wagatil Safaris driver-guide, you'll begin the scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, heading toward the Katuna border. Upon reaching the border, you’ll complete the necessary immigration procedures and cross into Uganda. From there, you’ll continue your journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. During the drive, you'll enjoy stunning views of terraced hills, lush landscapes, and local villages. You’ll stop for a lunch break in either Kisoro or Kabale before proceeding to the park. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge, check in, and relax as you enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the forest. You’ll have the evening free to rest and prepare for the exciting trek ahead.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. You’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and introduced to the rules of trekking. The hike into the forest starts from the park base, and you’ll follow an experienced ranger and tracker as you search for your assigned gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located, but the reward is an hour spent with these incredible creatures. After the trek, you’ll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the most scenic lakes in Uganda, known for its beautiful islands and surrounding hills. Once you arrive, check into your lakeside lodge and enjoy the serene atmosphere as you unwind and take in the views.

Lake Bunyonyi – Return to Kigali

Start your morning with a leisurely breakfast overlooking the stunning lake and its surrounding islands. If time permits, you can enjoy a relaxing canoe ride to explore some of the islands, such as Punishment Island, or simply take a walk around the lake. Afterward, you’ll begin your journey back to Kigali, retracing your route through Kabale and crossing back into Rwanda at the Katuna border. After completing the border formalities, you’ll continue your drive back to Kigali. You’ll arrive in Kigali by late afternoon or early evening, where your driver will drop you off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, bringing your unforgettable 3-day adventure to a close.
