The Delta's Hidden Gem

The Delta's Hidden Gem

It’s a short flight from Maun Airport per helicopter to the Amber River Camp - yes, helicopter! Amber River Camp in the Okavango Delta offers an exceptional wildlife experience in a serene, remote setting. Nestled along the banks of the winding river, the camp is surrounded by diverse ecosystems, attracting a rich variety of animals. The focus here is on game drives for a good reason. This wild corner of the Okavango Delta has a long-established name for excellent game viewing. Elephants are commonly seen as are many antelope species along with buffalos, giraffes and zebras. With this much game, no wonder it's a predator paradise. Guests can enjoy thrilling game drives, mokoro, and walking safaris, all providing close encounters with wildlife like elephants, lions, and hippos. The camp’s intimate atmosphere and luxury tents ensure a comfortable stay while fully immersed in the wilderness.

Discover the Savute Wildlife Magic

Discover the Savute Wildlife Magic

Today, you’ll fly out by shared charter to the middle of the Chobe National Park, a place called Savute. Enjoy three nights at Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge, which has luxurious chalets and breathtaking views across the Chobe NP. You can watch elephants and antelopes in the water below you, but the real drama is found on Savute’s game drives. Expert guides lead morning and afternoon drives in the search for Savute’s most famous residents; elephants, lions and spotted hyenas. Leopards patrol Savute’s isolated rocky hills, cheetahs watch the impala herds, and in summer, the great zebra migration transforms the landscape.

Best Time To Visit April to October (Best at the riverfront area)

Day 7-9

Sensational Private Island Location

Sensational Private Island Location

Few accommodations in Victoria Falls offer a location quite like that of the Islands of Siankaba. Built on two private islands in the Zambezi, this deluxe, seven-suite lodge is one of the most secluded and romantic on either side of the river. Honeymooners and privacy-seeking couples will simply love it. You’ll arrive by boat, meet your hosts at the jetty, and be led to your tented chalet via bridges and raised walkways.

An upstream location means you’ll have the advantage of being close enough to Victoria Falls to visit with ease but far enough to enjoy a peaceful stay. This makes the Islands of Siankaba perfect for winding down at the end of a Botswana safari. You’ll also find plenty to do: the lodge offers many inclusive activities ranging from tours of the falls and sunset cruises to guided nature walks and local village visits by mountain bike. Staff will be happy to arrange any other activities in the area, whether helicopter flights or white-water rafting.
