Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro, a breathtaking crater on the edge of the Serengeti in Tanzania, was formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano. The crater floor sits at approximately 1,700 meters, with towering walls rising between 400 and 600 meters, placing the rim at around 2,300 meters. Spanning roughly 20 kilometers in diameter, it is one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders.

Home to around 25,000 wild animals, Ngorongoro has the highest predator density in Africa. Its vast plains are teeming with zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, antelopes, and gazelles—prime prey for lions, hyenas, and leopards. The crater also hosts elephants and a small population of hippos, which are rare in this region. Additionally, 10 to 15 critically endangered black rhinos call the crater home. The great Serengeti migration also passes through Ngorongoro, adding to its incredible wildlife spectacle.

Your journey concludes in Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your chosen hotel.
