Tarangire is also home to a large number of elephants, and they are often seen in large herds around the park. Other species that are found are lions, buffalo, leopards, wildebeest, giraffes, etc. In the afternoon, you'll pause for lunch at the picnic site inside the park. It's also famous for its elephants, and it's not unusual to drive along a forest track only to have to stop suddenly to allow an
elephant family to pass. The setting is similarly superb, with the park's thin but dense strip of forest wedged between a bird-rich lake and the cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment. In the afternoon, you'll pause for lunch surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
