Day 2

At 8:00 am, you will be met by our driver/safari guide to begin your day heading to Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire has the largest number of elephants compared to any other national park, which made Tarangire known to be a home of Elephants, for its large concentration of wildlife population. Animals like elephants, eland, giraffes, lions, buffalo, cheetahs, leopards, and zebra are easily spotted.
Tarangire is also known for the Baobab trees which can live up to 300 years and can grow trunks reaching more than 100 feet in circumference. They have spent quite some time on the planet and seen a lot of history. So if only they could talk, they would surely be interesting storytellers! Enjoy spotting a large batch of colorful and exclusive bird species. Over 500 different species are housed in swamps that are spread all over Tarangire. This makes the area an amazing destination for bird lovers.

Elephants roam gracefully between ancient baobabs, while herds of buffalo and wildebeest move toward the Tarangire River. The drive from Tarangire National Park to Karatu offers a scenic transition from the wildlife-rich savannah to the lush highlands. Leaving Tarangire behind, the journey winds through Maasai villages and rolling countryside, with glimpses of cattle herders and traditional bomas. The road passes through Manyara’s escarpment, offering stunning views of the Great Rift Valley. As you approach Karatu, the landscape transforms into fertile farmland, dotted with coffee plantations and banana groves. Arriving at Marera Valley Lodge, guests are welcomed by its serene setting, spacious cottages, and beautiful gardens. The Ngorongoro Crater game drive begins early, after an early breakfast with departure from the Lodge at around 6:00 AM to reach the crater gate by 6:30 AM for a prompt descent. The drive to the crater floor is a breathtaking experience, offering a chance to explore one of the world’s most remarkable wildlife havens. The journey ascends through misty forests before descending into the crater’s vast caldera. Home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, sightings include lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. The soda lake attracts flamingos, while hippos lounge in pools. With its diverse habitats, from grasslands to acacia woodlands, every turn reveals something new. After a thrilling safari and picnic lunch within the crater, the drive back to Karatu offers time to reflect on the crater’s natural wonders.

The drive from Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti is a scenic journey through some of Tanzania’s most breathtaking landscapes. Departing Karatu, the road leads through the lush Ngorongoro highlands, from misty forest views before opening up to the vast Serengeti plains. Along the way, Maasai villages and grazing cattle dot the countryside. Entering Serengeti National Park, the terrain shifts to endless golden grasslands teeming with wildlife—zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and big cats. Depending on the season, travelers may witness part of the Great Migration, a true spectacle of nature. Upon arrival in Central Serengeti, a game drive enroute explores the rich wildlife before heading to Serengeti Wilderness Camp, where you will unwind in a true bush safari setting, surrounded by nature’s sounds.

After a midday break with Picnic lunch or drive back to the lodge for Lunch, the afternoon drive provides another chance to witness the Serengeti’s raw beauty, before returning to the Camp for a relaxing evening under the starlit African sky.

The journey from Serengeti to Arusha is yet another scenic and adventurous drive, taking approximately 7 to 8 hours. Departing from the Camp, the drive meanders through the vast Serengeti plains, offering final glimpses of wildlife along the way. Exiting the park, the road passes through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where Maasai villages and breathtaking highland landscapes provide a cultural and visual treat. A brief stop in Karatu allows for refreshments before continuing through the Great Rift Valley, with stunning views of Lake Manyara. As the journey progresses, the landscape shifts from wilderness to bustling towns before arriving in Arusha, marking the end of an incredible safari adventure.
