Day 2

Drive to Olpejeta Wildlife Conservancy

Drive to Olpejeta Wildlife Conservancy

Breakfast in your hotel. 08:00hrs Meet up with our representative at your Hotel Lobby. After introductions to your dedicated Safari Driver Guide and a pre-safari briefing, depart via the Great North Road, through the famed Kenyan Central Highlands to the Equator Point just before Nanyuki Town for a brief stopover.

Here, the locals perform a water demonstration to qualify the position of the equator and for a small tip you will be awarded an ‘equator certificate’. Drive on to the nearby 110,000-acre Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy, which lies on the Laikipia plains. Enjoy a game viewing drive en-route to Sweetwaters Serena Camp your home for the next two nights.

Lunch in the Camp followed by an afternoon at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the Camp that include a swimming pool. 16:00hrs enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive in the Conservancy.

Day 3

Olpejeta Wildlife Conservancy

Full day in the Conservancy with morning and afternoon game viewing drives. Host to all the members of the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park and is one of only four private game conservancies to have been founded in Kenya.

At the forefront of the Kenyan conservancy program, the conservancy boasts the largest Black Rhino Sanctuary in East Africa, hosts the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species.

Olpejeta to Nakuru National Park

Olpejeta to Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast in the camp, check-out and drive to Lake Nakuru skirting the Aberdare Mountain ranges to Nyahururu falls for a photo-stop. Still known to many as Thomson’s Falls, its waters fall 237‑feet making it the country’s highest water fall. Enjoy magnificent views of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

Lunch at your lodge.

1600hrs Depart for a game viewing drive in the park. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it’s recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore.

After an early breakfast, depart along the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley, with stops at strategic viewpoints to photograph the dramatic escarpment. Continue to Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving at your lodge for early afternoon check-in.

Enjoy lunch followed by leisure time to relax and take advantage of lodge amenities, including a swimming pool offering panoramic views of the vast Masai Mara plains. At 4:00 PM, set out for an afternoon game drive in this world-renowned reserve.

The Mara is famous for its abundant lions—particularly the magnificent black-maned males—and large elephant herds. With luck, you might also spot leopards, cheetahs, and rhinos. All "Big Five" animals (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) reside here, with African buffalo being particularly common.

Return to your accommodation at 6:00 PM to refresh before dinner at Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Sarova Mara Game Camp, or Mara Sopa Lodge.

07.30hrs, after breakfast in the lodge/camp, check out and drive to Nairobi to arrive in time for a farewell lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant hosted by Afio Mai Africa Safaris!

The Carnivore is a meat specialty restaurant. At the restaurant, whole joints of meat, lamb, pork legs, exotic meats, sausages, chicken livers and wings and even crocodile are skewered on traditional Masai swords and roasted over a huge charcoal pit!

Later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure. Day Room/s can be arraigned at a supplement fee on request.
