As you descend into the crater, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, from lush grasslands to woodland areas and salt flats. Today, you’ll explore Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania's most diverse and captivating wildlife destinations. Known for its stunning scenery, the park is set between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the vast Lake Manyara itself, offering a unique mix of habitats from lush groundwater forests and swamps to open grasslands and the sparkling waters of the lake.
Lake Manyara is famous for its rich birdlife, including thousands of flamingos that gather along the shores, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. The park is also renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions, which you may have the rare chance to observe as they rest high up in the acacia trees.
