Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and take a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its incredible wildlife sightings. During the dry season, the park comes alive with elephants stripping bark from thorn trees and ancient baobabs dotting the landscape. Enjoy stunning views of the Maasai Steppe and distant mountains as you spot herds of elephants, zebras, buffaloes, and oryxes drawn to the park’s water sources. Keep an eye out for lions on the prowl and marvel at the park’s rich birdlife, home to more breeding species than anywhere else on Earth. In the afternoon, after lunch, we’ll head to Twiga Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park to Arusha across Ngorongoro Crater

Tarangire National Park to Arusha across Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we continue our adventure to the Ngorongoro Crater, often hailed as the eighth wonder of the natural world. As we drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you’ll learn about its unique balance, where the Masai people’s pastoral lifestyle coexists with thriving wildlife. Upon reaching the crater’s rim, we descend 2,000 feet into the vast caldera of this extinct volcano. This breathtaking natural amphitheater is home to Africa’s densest concentration of wildlife, including lions, black rhinos, elephants, and the iconic Masai tribespeople. With its short grasses, animals are easily spotted and can be observed up close. We spend the morning exploring the crater floor, immersed in the wonders of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch at the hippo picnic site, we enjoy a final game drive as we ascend the crater and make our way back to Arusha.
