Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

You’ll be collected from your Arusha hotel and, following a morning briefing, set off for Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the 600-meter-high Rift Valley escarpment, this compact park is centered around the alkaline Lake Manyara, often dotted with thousands of flamingos that paint its shallow waters pink. Renowned for its rich birdlife, with over 400 species recorded, the park’s varied habitats—from dense forests to open grasslands—support a wide array of wildlife. Look out for monkeys in the treetops, giraffes and antelopes grazing on the plains, and elephants wandering among the acacia trees. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the famous tree-climbing lions of Manyara.
