Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, you will go through the usual immigration and customs procedures. Thereafter, you will be warmly welcomed by a member from Hallmark Travel Planners team who will transfer you to your hotel in Moshi.

This morning, wake up and take up your picnic lunch boxes.
Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). The drive will take approximately 1 hour. Once the necessary paper work is completed, your trek begins.
Expert English-speaking guide will inform you about Kilimanjaro and explain the different species of plants and animals you will see. You will also meet mountain climbers descending from the top, and perhaps some of them will tell you of their experiences!
After a 3-4 hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you will have a rest and lunch. Your guide will then take you on a short hike (15 minutes walking distance) to the Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania and Kenya.
Once you have enjoyed the views, you will return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), where your vehicle will be waiting for your transfer back to your hotel. On your return journey you enjoy the sunset & the day‘s memories.

After breakfast, we check out of the lodge at Moshi and drive to Tarangire National park for a game drive.
One of the lesser-known game reserves in Tanzania, Tarangire rivals the Serengeti in its great number and diversity of wildlife. It is a good choice for travelers who wish to encounter more animals and less tourists while on safari.
The Tarangire National Park is known as a wonderful birding destination and also features large numbers of game, particularly during the dry season, when the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the area. The landscape is of particular interest too, due to the high number of scenic baobab trees.

After an early morning breakfast at Tarangire, we depart for Lake Eyasi. Here we have our cultural tour with the Hadza and Datoga people and communities.
The Hadza are a modern hunter-gatherer people living in northern Tanzania. They are considered one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in Africa with approximately 1,300 in terms of population.
The Datoga people are of nilotic origins, classified as Highland Southern Nilotes. They are thought to have settled in the Lake Eyasi area about 3,000 years ago from Southern Sudan and Western Ethiopia highlands, where they originally lived before moving to this new region.
Immerse yourself in the rich cultural history of the Hadzabe and Datoga people this afternoon.

This morning, you rise early and go hunting with the Hadza people. The Hadza live in traditional ways, hunting game such as dik-diks and collecting honey. Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and as easily abandoned.
Like another people of hunters and collectors, the San people of the Kalahari in southern Africa, the Hadza speak a click language. After hunting and engagement with the locals, you return the lodge for breakfast and then depart for central Serengeti, arriving in time for lunch and afternoon game drive.

Day 6-7

We have 2 full days to enjoy the Serengeti National park.
First we have breakfast at the comfortable tented camp and then we set off for an adventure-packed day of game viewing in this top African game park.
We spend the whole of day three exploring the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania, pausing for a picnic lunch in the wilderness. Here we will hopefully see the Big Five of Africa (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo), as well as a dazzling assortment of other wildlife.
During and after the rainy seasons you may be lucky enough to catch the Great Migration in full force. Usually between October and November, and again from April to June, masses of plains game migrate across the rivers and plains of the Serengeti ecosystem.
During the annual migration hundreds of thousands of herbivores (mostly wildebeest, gazelles and zebras), move between Masai Mara and the Serengeti along an ancient route.

Have your breakfast and thereafter proceed to check out with picnic lunch boxes, heading for Ngorongoro Area.
A short stop over visit at the Ol Duvai Gorge before proceeding to the crater. Olduvai Gorge stands at the far end of the NCA. It is home to an archaeological site that is regarded as the cradle of humankind. Over 50 years ago, renowned archaeological couple Dr Louis and Mary Leakey, discovered the remains of what are believed to be the earliest humans, Zinjanthropus.
In the afternoon drive into the crater which has one of the biggest caldera filled with rich and diverse wildlife species. It has got the Acacia forest and the grass steppes were you will find every type of animal from the east African savannah.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. Estimates say that about 3 million years ago, the intact volcano was almost as high as Kilimanjaro, between 4,500 and 5,800 metres.

Breakfast at the lodge. The depart for a cultural immersion tour among the Maasai Tribe. The transfer takes about 2 hours 30 minutes before you reach your village.
The Maasai welcome you in their very special, impressive way. Let us introduce you to the life of the Maasai at this ancient, mystical cultural site. Nothing is as you are used to it.
You will live in clay houses with some additional amenities such as an English toilet, a shower and a sink. The large pool and the sauna also a portrayal of what you would expect from a luxury lodge.
Already our Mirror Cave takes you into the African dream world. While trying to shoot a target with your own spear, your senses will be taken into old-day adventures and fantasies of killing a lion.
At the campfire you learn everything about the Maasai culture and are invited to ask many questions. In the evening a dinner will be served that normally only Maasai eat.

Day 10-11

Two full days interacting with the Masai people.
After breakfast you will discover the medicinal plants of Maasai medicine with a naturopathic guide. On this walk you will have the opportunity to learn everything about the Maasai culture from your guide, gaining a deep insight into the everyday life of the people. Now at the latest you will understand what an original boma looks like and you will be happy to return to your own boma.
After lunch, you will have the opportunity to try on the traditional Maasai clothes yourself and to attach the traditional buckets to your donkey in order to get water. For the Maasai this is a very beautiful sight.
Your journey with the Maasai goes on this afternoon. We supply you with a used tyre, cassava, corn, sweet potato, milk powder, tea, enough water for three days, a sleeping bag and a mat as well as sun protection. This time the Maasai will pack your donkey and you will be released into the wilderness.

Depart
Today we bid farewell to the people of Engare Nanyuki and transfer back to Moshi town. If time allows, you will be able to do some shopping at Moshi before transferring to the airport for flight to your next destination.
