Arrive in Kigali. VIP meet and greet assistance with Akagera Aviation. They will help fast track visa process and collection of luggage from the conveyor belt. Transfer to the Four Points Sheraton Hotel for check-in. If time permits, a briefing about your tour will be at the lounge. Dinner will follow and overnight stay.

Kigali - Volcanoes

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out by 09h00. You will then visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum, which serves as a poignant reminder of the 1994 genocide, offering exhibits that educate visitors about the atrocities and promote healing and reconciliation. This will follow with a drive around the city to understand the history. Lunch will be at the Khana Khazana restaurant. Once this is done, set off for Volcanoes National Park and Musanze. Arrive at Virunga Inn Resort & Spa or similar. Check-in. Evening at leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Mount Bisoke Hike

Early breakfast at the resort and transfer to the Volcanoes Park headquarters for hike briefing by 07h00. You will be transferred to the trailhead by 08h00, where you will start your hike with other travelers and your wardens. Hike to the summit of Mt. Bisoke, a stunning volcano in the Virunga range, renowned for its breathtaking crater lake and diverse wildlife, offering hikers a rewarding adventure amidst lush rainforest. One can hire a porter to assist in the climb or in carrying your small backpack. After this memorable activity, descend from the mountains and proceed to the hotel for lunch. The afternoon will be at leisure and also discovering the city of Musanze with an evening coffee or drink at Volcanoes Lounge. Return to the hotel before sunset. Dinner will follow and an overnight stay at Virunga Inn Resort & Spa or similar.

Gorilla trekking

Embark on a thrilling trek to encounter endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, an awe-inspiring experience that fosters a deep connection with these majestic creatures and supports their conservation. After this amazing activity, descend from the mountains and proceed to the hotel for lunch. This afternoon, we will visit a cultural village to learn about the way of life of the people of the region. You will get to enjoy and learn the cultural dance. Dinner will follow and an overnight stay at Virunga Inn Resort & Spa or similar.

Lake Kivu

Early breakfast and check out. Drive an hour to Lake Kivu and Rubavu. En route, stop by for a self guided tour of the Ellen degeneres campus. Arrive and check in at the Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Lunch. Enjoy the afternoon driving around the city and along the lake, where if lucky you will catch a glimpse of the fishermen at work. Return to the hotel later in the late afternoon. Enjoy the pool or just hang out at the lounge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Kivu (Gisenyi) - Kigali

Leisurely breakfast and set off for Kigali, via Musanze. Arrive in time for a late lunch at the Pili Pili Restaurant. Debrief with our tour leader. Later visit Haute Baso to look at a selection of local art and maybe buy souvenirs to take with you to your family. Transfer to Kigali International Airport. Arrive, bid farewell to your driver guide and proceed to check-in for your outbound air transfer.
