Our company driver guide will be happy to greet you and give you an overview of this safari when you arrive at the designated pickup location. You will receive a briefing on Rwanda and what to expect from the safari. Thereafter, get to the comfort of your seat, with the seatbelt securely positioned and take the road to the only savannah park in the country; a host to a plethora of wildlife species and the African Big 5. For around 2-3 hours, you will be on the road, admiring undulating hills and scattered homesteads. When you get to the lodge late in the afternoon, You kick start with a game drive to look out for what this park has kept.

Day 3

You will wake up very early to an enjoyable 3- to 4-hour game drive in one of the biggest savannah parks on the African continent. There is no guarantee that your favorite species will be present when you drive through the park, but one thing is certain; Luck will bring a number of them, including cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, oribis, giraffes, leopards, Rhinos, leopards, wild dogs, and more. The day’s checklist is completed by animals including birds, primates, reptiles and more. Today after breakfast, you will head out with packed lunch for game drive in the open savanah and bushland of Akagera, later do your you packed lunch. The evening session will be held at Lake Ihema, where you will have to keep an eye out for animals like hippos and crocodiles during a boat ride. After everything is finished, you’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and a restful siesta.

Day 4
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Today, after breakfast, you will do a game drive through the park as you head out to kick start your journey to Volcanoes National Park. You will have lunch en route, arriving in the late evening for relaxation. You may choose to take a short walk around your lodge, visit the community or choose to stay at your lodge.

Day 5

Gorilla Trekking in the Volcanoes National Park
Your gorilla trekking experience will begin in the morning with a hearty breakfast. You will drive to the park headquarters with a packed lunch where you will meet the park ranger guide at 7 am for registration. He will take you through a briefing about the dos and don'ts while tracking and will then lead you to the forest to trek the endangered mountain gorillas. The mountain gorilla trekking lasts from 1 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorilla family is spotted because they keep moving to look for food. It will be exciting, as you will be enjoying the calls of the birds and seeing other primates as you search for the endangered mountain gorillas. After a successful trek, head back to your lodge for relaxation.

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll head to the national park of the volcanoes to start your day. The journey takes 4-6 hours and is characterized by dense vegetation, undulating hills, and sporadic homesteads. As you navigate the turns, hills, and valleys, the driver guide will tell you stories and make you laugh. You will make a pit stop for lunch and some refreshments. When you get in the park in the evening, you’ll head to the lodge for leisure, dinner, and a sound sleep.

Day 7

By 6 am, be setting out to the starting point of the chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest. You will be briefed by the ranger guides and set out into the forest. You will be able to see the chimpanzees swinging from one tree branch to another and their sounds heard from the moment you enter the forest up until when you exit. Drive back to your hotel for a late breakfast and spend the rest of the morning at leisure. In the afternoon after having your lunch, you will head out for the afternoon canopy walk on the 2- meters long 9 meters high suspended bridge giving you an aerial view of the park.

Day 8
Transfer to Kigali International Airport
Transfer to Kigali International Airport
After having breakfast in the morning, you will checkout of the lodge and the driver-guide will transfer you to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight back home. You will have an eu-route lunch meal on your way to the airport.
