This natural wonder boasts the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa, including nearly every species native to the region, such as the rare black rhino. Within the crater, you’ll find a river, swamps, a soda lake that appears to steam from above, lush forests, and vast open plains. The resident bull elephants here are known for their exceptionally large tusks, a result of the mineral-rich volcanic soil and grasses.
