Welcome to Rwanda! Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by your driver/guide from Golden Rwanda Safaris. After a brief meet and greet and introduction to your safari, you will depart for Ruhengeri. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can choose to spend your first night in Kigali and travel to Ruhengeri the following morning, depending on your arrival time.

Volcanoes National Park

Following breakfast, please meet at the RDB office at 7:00 am. Your guide will provide comments and instructions for the gorilla trekking experience, and you'll also receive a briefing from the Volcanoes National Park guides.

To ensure your full enjoyment of the trek, we encourage you to be in good physical condition. Please remember to bring sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, gloves (to protect against stinging nettles), snacks, and plenty of drinking water, as the weather can become hot and humid.

The time you spend with the gorillas will be an unforgettable hour. You'll return to your hotel for lunch later in the afternoon, and then enjoy dinner and your overnight stay.

Golden Monkey Trekking

Your third day will include a golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park, where you'll also have the chance to see the park's volcanoes. Afterward, you'll return to the hotel for lunch and then travel to Gisenyi to visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Your day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at the Kivu Serena Hotel.

Volcanoes National Park - Lake Kivu

Following breakfast, you will enjoy on a scenic morning boat ride on the lake. This will be a wonderful opportunity to observe a variety of bird species and other fascinating aquatic life along the lakeshore. Later, you can enjoy swimming at the Serena Beach Hotel. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Kigali

Your safari will conclude with a Kigali city tour. Our driver will pick you from your hotel and escort you on a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi, followed by an opportunity to interact with local artisans and discover their handcrafted products. Afterward, you will be transferred to Kigali Airport for your departure.
