Arrival in Kigali – Historical & Cultural Tour

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide and begin an insightful historical exploration of Kigali city. Visit significant landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where over 259,000 genocide victims are honored, and the Dr. Richard Kandt Museum. Continue to the Belgian Camp and Kigali Solaire, then proceed to Bugesera to visit the Reconciliation Village, where genocide survivors live in harmony with former perpetrators. Conclude the day with visits to the Nyamata and Ntarama Genocide Churches, sites of tragic historical events. In the afternoon, transfer to Musanze and check in to your lodge near Volcanoes National Park.

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park for a briefing and group formation. Embark on an exhilarating trek to locate the mountain gorillas, one of the most magical wildlife experiences. Spend an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the base for lunch. In the afternoon, you may visit Buhanga Forest, a sacred site where Rwanda’s kings were initiated, or explore Kinigi Cultural Village to learn about traditional Rwandan dances, music, and healing practices.

Golden Monkey Trekking or Bisoke Mountain Climbing & Transfer to Kigali

Option 1: Golden Monkey Trekking
Return to Volcanoes National Park early in the morning for a golden monkey trekking experience. These rare primates are fascinating and have become accustomed to human presence, allowing for close-up views. After the trek, enjoy lunch before transferring back to Kigali.

Option 2: Bisoke Mountain Climbing
For adventure seekers, embark on a 6-hour climb of Mt. Bisoke. Reach the summit to witness the stunning crater lake, while experiencing diverse flora and fauna along the way. Keep an eye out for forest elephants and buffaloes. After the climb, drive to Gisenyi and check in at Parades Malahide Hotel for the night.

Departure from Kigali
