Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Memorable Vacation Africa driver will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha for the night.
You will receive a short safari briefing at your lodge in Arusha the next day about the upcoming safari. You should plan to arrive at least one day before the start of the safari.
Distance: 45km drive to the lodge from the airport.
Drive time: 1 hour and 15 minutes from the airport to the lodge.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your private safari guide from your accommodation in Arusha at 6:30 am. You will drive to Tarangire National Park with a hot lunch in your safari hamper.
Tarangire is best known for its elephant families, savannah, iconic baobab trees, seasonal swamps and the life-giving Tarangire River. Animals gather at the river, and giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest are often seen. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra and wildebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators such as lions and leopards. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the wildlife in the Tarangire.
You will enjoy a picnic in the park, which includes a delicious hot lunch and the drinks mentioned. After lunch, you will continue with the game drive before heading to our partner comfort lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Karatu to Central Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast from the lodge at 6:30 am, you'll head towards the fertile highlands where the Iraqw people grow wheat, coffee, and corn, to the endless Serengeti plain with a picnic lunch in our safari hamper. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we will be afforded a view of the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater before travelling to the Serengeti National Park, which we will reach by midday. It is almost a 6- to 7-hour drive from Arusha.
Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania, covering an astounding 15,000 km² with diverse landscapes and habitats such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannahs and mountains. Here, the great migration of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope takes place and, depending on the season, we may have the opportunity to witness thousands of resident animals in their search for food and water. You’ll have a hot lunch on the route to Serengeti National Park.

Day 4
Central Serengeti Park to Northern Serengeti - Kogatende

After an early breakfast at 06:30 am, you'll depart for the en-route game drive as you head to Northern Serengeti with a packed lunch in your safari hamper. You will explore more of the central and northern portions of the Serengeti. The game drive en route towards the Kogatende region will offer mild action from resident game. As you approach the northern part of the Serengeti, you will notice the terrain change from the usual plain grassland to a more hilly and broken terrain. The northern region offers a variety of resident game such as zebras, topis, gazelles, buffaloes, leopards and lions. A picnic lunch will be done during the day-long drive itself. Based on the time of your arrival, you will spend a few hours by the Mara River.

Day 5

Full Game Drive in Northern Serengeti - Follow the Great Migration
After breakfast, you will depart at 7:00 am to the Mara River at the migrating crossing areas with a packed lunch in our safari hamper to enjoy a full-day game drive in the Wagakuria area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in this area of the park, with prides of lions and other cats. However, from August to October, it turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the great migration crossing at the Mara River, so you will enjoy witnessing the migration of wildebeest, zebras, etc, crossing the river.
In the afternoon, you'll take a short break for lunch at the Kogatende picnic site near the airstrip. After lunch, you will continue with an afternoon game drive to follow the migration and search for wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara River. After the game drive, you'll return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

After breakfast at 6:30 am, you'll depart from the camp with a packed lunch in our safari hamper. First, you will search for the migration crossing the Mara River before heading to Central Serengeti for the resident animals. This day will offer game sightings en route. The drive south from the Mara River valley takes you through hilly country, the Lobo area, woodlands and then back into Seronera terrain. The central portion of the Serengeti, known as the Seronera area, is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

After an early breakfast at 6:00 am, we will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater with our packed lunch. When you first see the crater, it looks like a forgotten world. Concealed by the steep volcanic walls is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed 2 to 3 million years ago. It is famous for both its geological delights and for being a natural reserve. It is home to some of the densest large mammal populations on the African continent.

Day 8
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast at 7:30 am, you’ll depart from our partner lodge in Karatu and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, your final destination on this epic safari! Manyara is a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you will see here is on a different scale. It is compact (one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary).
After the game drive in Lake Manyara, you will be dropped off in Arusha for some rest at the lodge. You can take a shower and change clothes if needed before driving to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight, depending on your flight time.
