Day 1

Moshi – Tarangire National Park

Moshi – Tarangire National Park

Your safari adventure begins after breakfast, when your guide picks you up from your hotel for the journey to Tarangire National Park. Located in the heart of northern Tanzania, Tarangire is one of the country’s most underrated treasures. Established in 1970 from a former colonial hunting ground, the park covers an area about the size of Luxembourg, making it one of the larger national parks in the region.

Tarangire is best known for its massive elephant herds—the largest in northern Tanzania—and its rich variety of wildlife including zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes, and predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, if you're lucky.

The landscape is striking and diverse, featuring wide savannahs, river valleys, seasonal swamps, and the iconic baobab trees, especially dense in the park’s northeastern sector.

After an exciting day of game viewing, you'll head to your simple hotel near the park, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight.

After an early breakfast, you'll depart from Tarangire and drive toward the world-famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at the Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

You’ll descend 600 meters into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Thanks to its permanent water and lush grazing grounds, the crater supports a wide range of animals including elephants, lions, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, and the endangered black rhino—making it one of the few places in East Africa where you can spot all of the Big Five in a single day.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, surrounded by dramatic scenery and abundant wildlife. After an unforgettable game drive on the crater floor, you'll ascend the crater rim and head to your lodge lake manyara national park, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in this remarkable setting.

Among the highlights are the striking pink flamingos, which blanket the shores in vibrant color, as well as an array of other birdlife including cormorants, pelicans, and storks. In total, over 400 bird species have been recorded in the park, making it a paradise for bird watchers.

Lake Manyara is also famous for its rare tree-climbing lions, typically found in the central, open plains of the park. As you explore on your game drive, you’re also likely to encounter elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos and etc,
