Your journey begins with a pick-up at 4:30 AM from your Kigali hotel by your Hope Tours Africa guide. Depart in your vehicle for a 2.5-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, arriving for a morning briefing at the park headquarters. Embark on a 2-4 hour golden monkey trek, venturing into bamboo forests to spot these playful primates, their golden fur gleaming as they leap through the canopy. Spend an hour enchanted by their antics, then return to the trailhead for a quick refreshment. Depart for a 4-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, crossing into Uganda via the Cyanika border. Arrive at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge by late afternoon, a cozy haven amid the forest’s edge. Check in, relax, and prepare for tomorrow’s gorilla trek as the forest whispers around you.

Rise early for breakfast, the forest alive with morning sounds as you gear up for gorilla trekking. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest headquarters for a briefing, then set off on a 2-6 hour trek through dense trails, your guide tracking gorilla families with expert skill. Encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, spending an hour watching them forage, play, and rest, their soulful eyes leaving a lasting impression. Return to the lodge by midday for a quick refreshment, then board your vehicle for the 4-hour journey back to Kigali, crossing the Cyanika border en route. Arrive in the late afternoon or evening, with a drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your departure, carrying memories of Rwanda and Uganda’s primate wonders.
