Your journey begins with a scenic 5–6 hour drive from Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way, enjoy views of rolling hills, tea plantations, and traditional Ugandan villages. Upon arrival, check in to your forest lodge and unwind amidst the sounds of nature. Kibale is a lush tropical rainforest best known for its high concentration of primates, especially habituated chimpanzees. It is also home to over 12 other primate species, colorful birdlife, and a vibrant ecosystem that offers an excellent introduction to Uganda’s biodiversity.

After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure. Accompanied by expert guides, you’ll venture through the forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee family. Once found, spend an hour observing their fascinating behaviors—feeding, grooming, and playing in their natural environment. After the trek, begin your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a journey of about 5–6 hours through the scenic Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa.” Arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge on the edge of the forest.

Spending an hour with these gentle giants in their natural habitat is a humbling and unforgettable experience. After the trek, have your packed lunch while you drive to Kigali, Rwanda (approximately 4–5 hours), arriving in time for your late evening departure.
