After arriving in Maun, you’ll board a short scenic flight into the Dinare private concession, where your safari begins. Mma Dinare sits beside the Gomoti River, overlooking seasonal floodplains that attract a steady stream of wildlife.
This classic tented camp is known for its open feel, both in design and in the landscapes that surround it. From the main deck, there’s an uninterrupted view across golden grasslands where elephant, giraffe, buffalo, and antelope frequently pass. It’s a great place to sit quietly and watch the world go by.
You’ll spend your days on morning and afternoon game drives, often with exclusive sightings on this private concession. Lion, leopard and wild dog are regularly seen here, and night drives add a different layer of drama, with spotlight sightings of civets, genets, and the occasional aardvark. Birdlife is also prolific, from bee-eaters to giant eagle owls.

Fly to Pom Pom Camp in the heart of the Delta
This morning you’ll fly westward by light aircraft into the centre of the Okavango Delta, landing on Pom Pom’s private island. The change in scenery is immediate — from open plains to a lush mosaic of water channels, palm-dotted islands, and cool shade beneath the jackalberry trees.
Pom Pom Camp is nestled in a wild and watery part of the Delta, offering a very different safari experience. Enjoy walking safaris, alongside traditional game drives. During the flood season, from May to September, the focus shifts to mokoro excursions (dugout canoe safaris) and boat trips taking you through crystal-clear channels as reed frogs call and jacanas tiptoe across the lilies.
This is a great area for big game. Drives often reveal hippo, elephant, lion and leopard, and the birdwatching is exceptional. This is also one of the better places in the Delta to see the elusive sitatunga antelope.
