You will be picked up from your hotel or airport in the morning and driven through lush coffee and tea plantations to Treetops Lodge in the Mount Kenya region. There is a water hole at the lodge where animals come to drink water. Therefore, no game drives today are necessary – you will have amazing views of the wildlife right at your door!

Day 2

Aberdares / Samburu National Reserve

Aberdares / Samburu National Reserve

Depart after breakfast and drive into the dramatic, semi-arid scrubland of the northern frontier. You will arrive in time for lunch. After Lunch, you will have a short rest before going for your afternoon game drive. Keep an eye out for resident wildlife species like the reticulated giraffe, gravy zebra, Beisa oryx and the blue necked Somali ostrich that are rarely seen anywhere else in the country.

Samburu National Reserve

You will have a morning game viewing which commences very early when the animals are most active. Later on, retire to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before going for your evening game drive.

Samburu is home to some of Africa’s rarest game species. The river’s permanent waters abound with crocodile and hippo and attract plenty of wildlife including the shy Oryx beisa, Grevy’s zebra, the long-necked gerenuk antelope and the Somali ostrich. Cheetah, Leopard and lion are also found in the reserve too.

Day 4

Samburu / Sweetwaters (Ol Pejeta Conservancy)

Samburu / Sweetwaters (Ol Pejeta Conservancy)

After breakfast, you will depart for Sweetwaters Tented Camp, set in a 22,000-acre rhino sanctuary Ol Pejeta Camp. It enjoys magnificent plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya and has an abundance of wildlife.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive to the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary of its kind in Kenya. Later on, you will go back to your camp for dinner and then spend the night at the Lodge viewing various animals as they come to visit the waterhole and saltlicks.

Day 5

Sweetwaters / Lake Naivasha

Sweetwaters / Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you will check out and leave for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival in Naivasha, you will check in at your hotel, have your lunch and afternoon spent relaxing and enjoying the facilities. At extra cost, you may choose to go for a boat ride in Lake Naivasha, where you will sail across the lake looking for hippos, pelicans, kingfishers, and more, or visit the nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, which will allow you to stretch your legs on a guided walking safari viewing small game (No predators).

Alternatively, you may also choose to go for an optional bicycle ride to Hell’s Gate National Park, which will bring you close to grazing antelopes, buffalos, zebras, and giraffes.

You will have an early morning breakfast at the camp/lodge and then check out and leave Lake Naivasha for Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch and a short rest, you'll enjoy a game drive through the park in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, and buffalos among others.

Day 7

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve

A very early morning game drive in the Masai Mara – the ideal time to see game as temperatures are cooler and hopefully lion, cheetah and leopard will be roaming the vast grasslands in search of prey. Return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning at leisure or partake in optional activities, a visit to Masai village to see their nomadic life this at extra cost. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive to get a closer look at the Mara and to look out for the ‘Big 5 ‘. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Alternatively, instead of a morning and afternoon game drive, you can opt for a full day game drive. In this case, you will take an early breakfast, then leave the lodge carrying parked lunch in picnic boxes. You will spend full day exploring the vast plains inhabited by a great variety of big game and plains animals.
