After a pick up from the airport or the hotel, you'll head to Musanze, Rwanda's second-largest city, with the majestic Virunga volcanoes as your backdrop. You'll spend the night here and enjoy dinner. If you've got some extra time, consider exploring the Iby Iwacu Cultural Village or checking out the Musanze caves.

Your day starts with an early breakfast at the lodge, followed by a drive to Volcanoes National Park's headquarters, where you'll meet your guides. After a briefing, you'll set out to track mountain gorillas in their natural habitat - an adventure that promises to be a highlight of your trip. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas' location and weather conditions. You'll navigate through mountain forest at high altitudes, with no guarantee of exactly how long or challenging the journey will be. Once you find the gorillas, you'll have a precious hour to observe these majestic creatures up close, learning about their family dynamics and unique personalities. After your unforgettable encounter, you'll head back to Kigali.
