Arrival at Kigali Airport, Tour Kigali City, Transfer to Volcanoes NP

Our Guide/driver will pick you up from the Airport at 8:00am or earlier to start the 3-hour journey to Volcanoes National Park. Before embarking on the journey, you will go for a tour of 4 places within the city. These include the genocide memorial Centre in Kigali, the main city market, the former presidential palace museum and artisan shops for souvenir. After the city tour, you will start the journey to Volcanoes National Park.

The journey to Volcanoes National Park is short but rewarding, you will be rewarded with amazing scenery and beautiful countryside. From the amazing volcanoes and beautiful hills of Rwanda to the thick forests, expect a real treat if you love nature. Lunch will be taken along the way and you should reach late in the afternoon. Once you reach your hotel, check in, shower and relax as you prepare for Golden Monkey tracking the next day.

Golden Monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park & Ibya iwacu Cultural Village

After your breakfast, you will head straight to Volcanoes National Park offices for briefing on Golden monkey trekking. The Rangers will share with your information about the park, the creatures therein, the golden monkey troops, how to behave around Golden monkeys and what to expect. Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park usually takes between 3 to 5 hours. They are easy to locate because of their vocal nature.

Their groups are also more dramatic compared to those of gorillas. Expect an hour full of action with the golden monkeys once you locate them. Take as many photos as you wish and then return back to the accommodation. Return to the accommodation to have lunch and Later transfer through the border to Uganda arriving Bwindi in the evening to relax at the lodge in preparation for the ultimate gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Bwindi Gorilla trekking, Transfer to lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

You will wake up early morning to take breakfast before heading to the park offices for the briefing on gorilla trekking. The briefing covers several topics including what to expect, how to behave yourself while with the gorillas, the gorilla groups and the history of the park. Gorilla tracking in Uganda involves being assigned one gorilla family from among the habituated.
Some gorilla families in Uganda live and move deep in the forest and require more hours to find them. Hire a porter if you have extra luggage and equipment before heading into the forest.

You will have one hour with the primates. Take your time to observe and take photos. Remember the gorilla trekking rules. After your one hour with the gorilla family is done, you should head back to the starting point where you will be awarded certificates
later after enjoying our packed lunch, we embark on a drive to the famous lake Bunyonyi for relaxing on the home of 29 islands.

Canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi, Transfer to Kigali Airport

You will have an early breakfast before you explore the islands on this lake and enjoy some good views as well as beautiful birds while on a canoe ride across the lake as you learn some of the important historical islands

Immediately after this, you will proceed with your departure back to Kigali arriving in the late afternoon. Your guide will either drop you off at a hotel of your booking or at the airport to catch your flight.
