Dar es salaam to Mikumi national park

Early morning pick-up at your hotel or airport in Dar es Salaam, introductions and briefing of tour program by our tour guide team of driver and tour guide.
Then once aboard we will start the road trip to Mikumi.
This journey will take about 5 to 6 hours, so you will get a good view of African hinterlands as we drive past local towns such as Kibaha and Morogoro. We will stop for lunch in Morogoro town. On arrival at the park, you will check-in at the lodge and refresh, and then proceed to a cultural visit at the nearby Maasai village.
Return to the lodge afterward for evening dinner, rest and relaxation.

Game drives in Mikumi national park

After your breakfast, you will depart the lodge at 7hr30 and drive to Mikumi park for a full day of game drives in our 4*4 safari jeep, guided by our experienced tour guides. See a lot of animals in this park today, including elephants, lions, and gazelles. Enjoy a hot lunch in the middle of the park at Mikumi cottages restaurant, complete with small monkeys outside the restaurant.
After lunch, you will continue with the Mikumi safari experience until around 18hr00 whereby you will exit the park and go back to the lodge to refresh and rest as dinner gets prepared.

At this park you will see a lot of animals in the savannah, and lions are very common and in large numbers, but some days they are nowhere to be seen. Other common animals found in Mikumi are elephants, wild dogs, Zebras, Giraffes, Impalas, Hyena, Buffalo, Wildebeest, the Eland antelope, Hartebeest, Crocodile, hippos, and Lizards.
It is estimated that there are over 300 species of birds in Mikumi.

Transfer back to the city

Today we focus on getting you back to the city safely. After your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and jump into our air conditioned transfer van, Toyota Alphard, and begin the journey back to Dar es Salaam.
Stop for a hot lunch en-route.
Drop off at your selected location, hotel, airport, or ferry station in Dar es Salaam.
End of Safari program.
