Your journey begins in Kigali, where you’ll be met by your private guide and 4WD safari vehicle at your hotel in Kigali. Start the day with a poignant visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, honoring the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
From Kigali, drive approximately 2.5 hours northwest through Rwanda’s iconic rolling hills and vibrant rural towns to reach Volcanoes National Park—home to the legendary mountain gorillas.
After checking in and enjoying lunch at the lodge, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. This state-of-the-art conservation center and museum offers a fascinating insight into the life and work of Dian Fossey and ongoing gorilla conservation efforts. 1st Gorilla Trek, Volcanoes NP & Gorilla Gardian Village Tour

Rise early and transfer to the Kinigi Park Headquarters for a briefing before heading into the forest with expert trackers and guides. Trek through dense rainforest in search of one of the park’s habituated mountain gorilla families. Once located, you’ll spend a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat—a truly unforgettable experience.
After returning to the lodge and freshening up, if time allows go to explore the Gorilla Guardian Village, a local cultural center that showcases Rwandan traditions, music, and dance. Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
