From there, you’ll journey 120 km to the stunning Tarangire National Park—renowned for its massive elephant herds and rich variety of wildlife. Traverse through seasonal swamps, sun-drenched savannahs, and along the life-giving Tarangire River, where you’ll spot zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, and with some luck, lions or leopards. Nestled in the lush foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Materuni is home to one of the region’s most beautiful waterfalls. After the hike, dive into the rich culture of the Chagga people with a hands-on coffee tour. Visit local banana farms and learn about traditional methods of roasting and brewing coffee right from bean to cup. You’ll even get to join in the process and taste the results of your efforts!
