Your Tanzanian adventure begins as you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where your private guide welcomes you and drives you 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park. After checking into the scenic Tarangire Safari Lodge, perched above the Tarangire River, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive in a private 4x4 vehicle. Tarangire’s vast plains teem with massive elephant herds, giraffes, lions, leopards, and over 500 bird species, framed by ancient baobab trees. A packed lunch keeps you fueled amidst the wilderness. Next, visit the Datoga tribe, known for their blacksmithing and pastoral lifestyle, where you’ll witness their craftsmanship up close. A packed lunch by the shores of Lake Eyasi follows, with time to spot flamingos and other birdlife during a guided walk.

After breakfast, drive Dawn breaks with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a 1.5-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a gem known for its tree-climbing lions and flamingo-filled lake. Embark on a morning game drive, weaving through lush forests and open plains to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and diverse birdlife. A highlight is the guided canopy walk (additional cost, pre-booked), where you’ll stroll through treetop walkways for a unique perspective on the park’s ecosystem, spotting monkeys and birds from above. Enjoy a packed lunch in the park before driving 2 hours back to Arusha. Your guide then transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your evening flight home or an optional extension to Zanzibar’s beaches (not included).
