Charlotte Beauvoisin first touched down in Uganda (the Pearl of Africa) as a Voluntary Service Overseas volunteer with the Uganda Conservation Foundation. She couldn't bear to leave and 15 years later, she's still there.
Charlotte writes for Fodor's, Horizon Guides and Bradt from her wooden house at Sunbird Hill on the boundary of Kibale National Park, a forest famous for chimpanzees (and 12 other species of primate), the endangered African grey parrot and the rare green-breasted pitta. Her award-winning blog
