Your point of entry to Madagascar will most likely be Ivato International Airport (TNR) in the capital city of Antananarivo (Tana). If you’ve booked a tour, your tour operator will pick you up from the airport and handle everything from there.

Isalo National Park is very accessible. It is close to Ranohira and just off the Route Nationale 7 (RN7) between Fianarantsoa and Toliara (Tuléar). A visit to the park can easily be incorporated into any road trip in southern Madagascar.

However, the most direct way to get to the park is to fly to Toliara. The distance from Toliara is 240km/150mi, and the driving time is about 3½ hours*.

*Driving times are only a rough indication. You should always consider the possibility of significant delays.
