We booked a six-day safari with Features Africa Journeys, Nairobi. We chose the six-day safari (Amboseli - Nakuru - Maasai Mara) over the usual 4-day safaris because this one included Amboseli and we really wanted to see Mount Kilimanjaro. Who doesn't?! The tour was on the luxury scale (c. $1500 per person, all accommodation, meals and transport included) and it was worth every single cent.
Our guide, Anthony, had the most extraordinary knowledge about the wildlife and local culture; he knew every answer to every question. Not only that, he had the magic touch. Somehow, no matter what we asked for he found it; this included an end-of-season wildebeest crossing. A tall order, but he found a group of wildebeest along the river. It didn't look as though they were going to move but Anthony said, 'Wait 10 minutes'. We did ... and they did. Magical.
Although it would add to the cost, I think two nights at Nakuru would be a better experience.

We arrived just before dinner and left very early the next morning, so we didn't get to experience the best that the camp had to offer. Maybe make an extra day an option for travellers booking this safari?
The accommodation in the three camps we stayed at was 5-star in the literal sense. To top it all, we opted for the hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara. An absolute 'must-do' if your budget allows it.
I would recommend this tour company and the 6-day safari without any hesitation. We also did the one-day tour to Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate. Again, our expectation were exceeded.
Our thanks to Anthony and Karanja of Features Africa Journeys. Top notch. I have a feeling we will see you again.

We booked 5days private safari and everything was even better than we expected. Our guide/driver Charles took care of us so we did not have to anything but watch the animals, eat and sleep.-)) And he told us so much about the animals and looked for the sprecies we wanted to see until he found them. It way simlpy great. The only cats was to synchronize our time with Charles´´:-)) It seems we were on the interntaional and he was on the african time as we all called it laughing - alway 15 minutes late. But after a couple days we all got to the african time:-D

We were only in the Masai Mara for 1 full day, and so did not expect to see much. Our guide Ken, who we booked through right choice tours and safaris was so skilled he found us 8 cheetah (my favourite animal- I did not imagine I would be lucky enough to see even one. He found eight!), a pride of lions with cubs, a leopard!!, elephants, giraffe, an eagle, and heaps of gazelles, zebra, and wildebeest.

It was a massive experience I’ve ever had in life!! Richard is such a great nice guy!!
He found literally a giant (no kidding it was enormous and rather scary) crocodile having a wild lunch in the river. It was in the middle of food chain & something I could never experience back home in Japan!!
No only did I saw the crocodiles, I saw all the animals +++α I wanted to see including lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, giraffes, Gnus, hyenas, hippos, chrocodiles & much much more!! Maybe 50+ animals that I could never see back home!! You can see those wild ones only in Africa. This is a must-do experience.
2nights 3 days happened to be a great choice for me. It was accommodative. neither too short nor too long. A full day in the middle will get you a full of animals you may only see in the animal picture book.
The morning session of the last day was spent in Masai village. Here is another once in a lifetime experience.

You can spend time with them inside their houses.
Once again I strongly recommend this trip.
All the credit goes to Richard & the tour company. Thank you.

Kenya is a great place to visit on safari. We enjoyed everywhere we went - which was a self picked itinerary. In retrospect I think we should have visited fewer parks in the time available as we did have some long days driving. Our driver was excellent at finding game for us - and was always keen to find as much as possible for us to see!
Food and accommodation everywhere was very good.

The wildlife is abundant in Maasai Mara. The scenery at Lake Nakuru is quite different from the Mara, but it's worth the trip. We opted for a 4x4 and it was well worth it - I wouldn't want to do the drive to the park, and the game drive, in a van. Our guide was knowledgeable and kept in contact with other guides to ensure we saw the Big 5, and then some.
The food at our accommodations was good. We felt well taken care of. The food on the way to/from Lake Nakuru was ok. It was tasty, there just wasn't much in the way of selection.
