Kenya with African Sermon Safaris
Overall rating
5/5

We booked our trip with African Sermon Safaris with great expectations of a fabulous trip and African Sermon Safaris delivered! They seemed to go well beyond delivering the transportation and accommodations that they agreed to provide; they seemed to feel an obligation to deliver the experience. Even when a few small glitches in the itinerary developed (neither through any fault of African Sermon Safaris), they quickly developed a workaround that in some ways was even better than the original plan! Fabulous trip and no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Daniel and John (out driver) to anyone interested in the experience of a lifetime!

Amazing Experience - Migration at its Peak
Overall rating
5/5

Possibly a bucket list thing to do which far exceeds expectations. Seeing wild life at such a close range is something to truly experience - however, the whole trip adds its own flavor to it. Driving through the highways or the uncharted jungle ways, adventure and excitement are always lurking around the corner. This was helped by a beautiful cool weather and ever helpful guide from KWSS .
You get the sense of safari from the moment you step into the safari car at the airport - which is basic but comfortable considering we spent literally 6 days in it. The accommodation even in the forest areas were clean and safe.
A lot depends on the safari company and the guide is what we discovered - it's up to your guide to go that extra mile to make your experience the experience of a lifetime - ours did.

Kenya has variety of parks and reserves even if you miss something you are eager to see you will definitely find it in another park or reserve

Our driver Jose was an excellent person and very professional. We really liked the company and its knowledge and culture.
I want also to say that the organisation and the servises provided were satisfying and well scheduled.
All the accomodations were fine, clean and in good proportion of quality/price.
We really liked the Kibo at the Amboseli park.
The only suggestion I may say is to overnight at Lake Nakuru instead of lake Navasha. It would have been a better solution in my opinion also for logistic reasons.
Nevermind we did it great, it is just a personal suggestion for the future to come.
I will reccomend your agency to my friends and if we come back or visit other places closed to Kenya I will ask you for a safari trip organisation.

Good experience, carefully select your safari company

We definitely had a good time on our excursion into the Masai Mara, and were able to observe all kinds of wildlife. Our driver, Peter, was good, and made sure that we were able to see things that many missed. However, our company, African Breeze Tours, stated that there would be a maximum of 6 persons to a vehicle. Ours had seven, and sometimes it became a problem with a space to stand and see. We were scheduled into an ecocamp, and were actually in Rhino camp. I understand that if a place is overbooked, they have to use another location. This one was good, except the power was only on for a few hours a day. I use a powered device for sleeping (apnea) and wasn't able to use it. Another problem with the place is that they wash the utensils and dishes in local cold water, and don't have a way to sterilize them. Some of us, including me, came down with severe intestinal issues. We were always careful to use bottled water for drinking and brushing, so it didn't come from our hygiene...

African Breeze tours wanted cash at the point of departure. I don't hand over many hundreds of dollars to someone on the street. I insisted on credit card, and they finally acquiesced.

If you have a bad back, this may not be an activity for you. I was able to keep mine in check, but it was difficult on the roads, or lack thereof... I wouldn't want Kenya to pave these roads, but perhaps grade them once a year or so...

If we had the agreed maximum number of people, and a more careful cooking/cleaning staff, the trip would have been excellent.

The best thing about Kenya is Kenyans. Airport needs to be developed somehow to serve this amount of tourists but this didn't affect my trip by any mean.

Our 4 days safari trip was perfect! Everything was perfectly organized, we saw a lot of animals and our driver was very nice and always in contact with the other drivers in irder to find the best spots to see the animals. The accomodations were good and food as well. Maggie, our reference person from the agency, was helpful and nice since the beginning, we asked her a lot of questions via e-mail and whatsapp and she was so quick to answer and always very accomodating. The only suggestion we have to make this experience even more perfect can be to keep the same group of people from the beginning till the end (we changed group 3 times in 4 days) but as said this was not a big problem for us. Thanks to everyone for this amazing experience!

A great experience

Recently, I went to Kenya to take a vacation. The highlights are of course to see those wild animals in Africa.

I took a "6 days 5 nights Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli" with a company called "Africa Flash McTours & Travel". The manager, Mr. Peter Macharia, did a great job, looking after his customers, although there are circumstances that are a bit beyond his control.

A convincing example is that all the tour companies appear to have a system that tourists are told to hop on different buses at a set of places where they stop for lunch. This system initially confused me a lot as I thought that I would be always staying with one group, once a group has been arranged by a particular company prior to the beginning of your program. But, that was not the case. So, to me what Peter did most impressively was that one day, when he could not organize any other driver to pick me up from Nairobi to Amboseli, he sent in a car to just take me there. Of course, a single passenger would cost his company slightly more than letting his customers sharing with others. But, to me this is the convincing moment that his is a trustable manager.

I also want to mention is passing that a young driver in his own company, John, has done a great job! His English is excellent and he appeared to try to do his job properly, rather than trying to "cut corners".

First time in Kenya and first safari
Overall rating
5/5

To give some context to my review, I'm the type of person that usually likes to travel without anything scheduled and figure out what to do in the place. Since this was our first time in Africa, our first Safari and we were going to Kenya in the elections period, we've decided to at least book the Safari online. Finding a company was not an easy task (there are way too many agencies) and Simon was probably the person that better replied to all my questions and did it a timely manner (he was replying much faster than I was replying to his emails, sorry pal!).
When we got to Kenya, everything went smooth but we've figure out that the online companies are nothing more than agencies that deal with freelance drivers and include us in a 4x4 with people from other companies. This is not a bad thing, but for someone that travels on the cheap, you are more than ok to go to Kenya, find one driver and negotiate with him directly. For those of you who prefer to do it the "safer way", I clearly recommend Wildrace Safaris .
Kenya is without a doubt an amazing country to travel around and see a different scenario from anywhere we've been in the world. We had the opportunity to see the big 5 between Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. When in Amboseli, if you can see "Cloudymanjaro", please celebrate for me.
Our trip was lovely and Simon made sure we were always ok during the entire trip. We ad a few roadbumps along the Safari, but "This Is Africa". The important part is that we really enjoyed the country, the safari and everything we crossed paths with.
