Kenya is one of East Africa 's premier safari destinations and having been in 11 of the parks and reserves since my first trip in 1978 within some parks many times. For a first Safari Kenya's tourism's infrastructure is more advanced and with a good knowledge guide your able to see a great deal of Wildlife especially the big five. I would suggest you avoid the rush around which means here today for dinner and a game drive on the way to the next park . I suggest you stay for several days at one park getting to know the wildlife and the area.
I have lived in Tanzania and Uganda setting up Avis Car Rental locations and only

Wildlife was plentiful at Lake ,Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Lake Bogoria and Amboseli. Amboseli was good for the elephants. Lake Naivasha was excellent for birds, Lake Bogoria is wonderful for Flamingos. Lake Nakuru was overall very good for many kinds of wildlife.

Safari in Kenya feels authentic, unlike many other safari destinations such as South Africa, India or Thailand. Animals are not tagged, so the search for them feels exciting and real. The parks are designed to protect the animals from overexposure to tourist cars and an effort to preserve the natural feel for their habitat is evident.

Having lived here and met thousands of people from all over the world who have saved for years for a 2 week holiday to Kenya - I am very happy to have been able to travel all over the country with my tree planting job and validate just why so many people come to visit this country. Its simply breathtaking!

The whole country is like a zoo, with abundant wildlife, preserved well for tourists to enjoy and respect. Big Five can be easily spotted. I saw over 30 types of animals and countless unique birds too. I'd love to return to Kenya to visit other national parks. Just be aware of the souvenir shop owners along the drive from Nairobi to the parks and Masai women at the park gates who are way too eager to sell crafts to tourists. Definitely bargain and start at 30-40% of the asking price. NBO airport needs a makeover.

What can be said about Kenya that hasn't already? It's simply one of the most amazing destinations that one could contemplate. The variety of the animals and birds is simply beyond compare. And Kenya provides some of the most scenic vistas to encounter all of the animals in. While Tanzania may lay claim to the highest peak in Africa, Kenya is home to the second highest peak -- Mt. Kenya. The latter is far more scenic as a backdrop for all of the wildlife. Carved by many, many years of glacial activity, it's a sculpted delight that is dramatic from all angles. Additionally, Kenya offers a very large variety of terrains and eco-systems. It's all here in a country filled with friendly, helpful people that are proud of who they are and where they're from.
