A spectacular cornucopia of scenery and wildlife

We went on safari for 7 days (Fede Tours - Frederick is an amazing guide) and went through Amboseli, Masai Mara, and lake Nakuru. It was honestly an unbelievable experience - we saw more animals than we ever could have imagined and all set against a backdrop of stunning beauty (including seeing Kilimanjaro in the background). 10/10 would recommend and do again in a heartbeat. It was also great to understand some of the Masai culture - a great experience all round.

Also, Kenyan people are some of the friendliest I have ever met!

Kenya is a great East Africa experience. Being my first time on that side of the continent I found it’s diversity made it easy to indulge in everything. From the beautiful non tourist filled beaches in Mombasa to the vast rolling landscapes of the Maasai Mara and the nightlife of Nairobi. Whether you’re into ecotourism, cultural encounters or the highlife, there’s something for everyone. My next trip will be much more curated and quiet but if you’re a first time traveler to Kenya, I suggest try everything once, stay for a minimum of 10days then return again for what you enjoyed most.

The best place for first safari and watching predators
Overall rating

In the Masai Mara you can watch lions, cheetahs and, if fortunately, leopards. Of course, elephants and many other popular animals are much.
At Nakuru Park, you can watch Rhinos, which is rare in other parks.
I took 4D3N safari through these two parks and got to see all these animals.
In brief, you can see all BIG5s and another popular animals in these parks if you have one week.

Compared to Botswana where I've been, I had more chance to watch predators in the country, because driver had effort to seek them.
On the other hand, safari in the country is all arranged as start/end at Nairobi, also the security in this country is not as good as the Southern African country.

Therefore, if you have a specific goal to see the famous animals in the savannah, this is the country for you.

Trip of a lifetime! We CANNOT WAIT to go back to Kenya!

Kenya absolutely blew my our minds! We stayed at Governors Camp Masai Mara for 3 nights and did safari every single day we were there. Masai Mara is like heaven on earth—elephants, giraffes and zebras everywhere! We saw an entire pride of lions, lions mating, a leopard AND THE FAMOUS WILDEBEEST CROSSING ON MARA RIVER. Plus, we visited a Masai tribe which is something you definitely don't want to miss out on, it was so fun and very eye opening. All the Kenyans we met were extremely helpful and friendly and there wasn't a single time we felt unsafe on our entire trip. While staying in Nairobi at the beginning and end of our trip, we visited the Archive Museum and the National Museum of Kenya & Snake Park. Both were very interesting. After Masai we went to Lake Nakuru for a day safari where we saw rhinos—tons! Like 10 at one time. The safari at Nakuru was nice but not even close to the experience of Masai Mara (where you can go more off road). Also, depending on the time of year expect beautiful weather! It was warm during the day and cold at night—perfect. Overall Kenya is an amazing beautiful country, just book your trip! We ended up booking via Joseph at Wildlife Safari and everything was amazing from start to finish.

We booked a 3 night Masai Mara safari with Bigmac Safaris. Having lived in South Africa for a few years we are not strangers to Africa or safaris. The Masai Mara proved to be fantastic game viewing. It can get busy with other safari vehicles but 99% of guides are polite to other drivers/guides and they all keep each other informed of good locations and move around animals with care. The quality of the lodge and food was good. I would recommend Kenya for a first time safari because of the sheer number of animals you are likely to encounter. Kenyan people are friendly and always willing to go the extra mile.

Incredible experience! If you hesitate stop it and book your safari trip with hyrax. Together with 2 friends we decided to choose 6 days safari in Masai Mara, Amboseli and lake Naivasha. The amount of animals we saw was undescribable. We saw big 5, hundreds of thousands antelope and zebras during the great migration. But the most incredible experience was view of 44 elephants walking thru dry Amboseli lake. Everything because our driver and guide Patrick! He knew everything, was very patient and he shares his love to wild life to us. Car was comfortable even when driving for 10 hours. We upgraded our accommodations and it was a great choise. Everyone during our trip were very friendly and helpful. This 6 days I will remember to the end of my life!

Awesome. God had fun and a sense of humor when creating the country, it's animals and birds.

The safaris by African Paradis Safaris LTD were awesome, 9 of 10. Each park had its own beauty and we saw all the game possible, in incredible quantity. Our guide, Lawrence Muthee, was knowledgeable and ensured that we were always cared for and saw the best possible. Each lodge that we stayed in was a 4* or better. The tent was "gampling" and fun. At no time did we feel any concerns, except that we may not tip enough. I tried to pick a favorite park but couldn't. If we had to shorten our trip, we might skip Lake Naishava. The cultural visit to the Maasai village was another highlight. When we return, we will use the same company and guide. We took an upgrade with a balloon ride. It was worth the added expense. We visited Tsavo East, Amboseli, Lake Naishava, Maasai Mara, Lake Nokuru, Aberdare, and Samburu. Everyone we met was eager to be of assistance.
We went to Zimbabwe and took a game drive there. It was 2 on a scale of 1-10. The Falls was huge and nice, but, after you've seen the water fall down, it's anti-climatic. Not worth the expense. Not much else to do or see.
