Khutse Game Reserve is a year-round destination. But the best time for wildlife viewing is from May to August when daytime temperatures are cooler, it rarely rains, there are numerous animals around, and the roads are in optimal condition. The wet months from December to March can also be good, when animals gather around the pans and migratory birds are present. At this time, however, roads can become very muddy.
