The Khwai Concession consists of two concessions: NG18 and NG19. Most visitors travel to one of the airstrips in the concession on a charter plane from Maun International Airport (MUB) or, to a lesser extent, Kasane International Airport (BBK). Maun is Botswana’s main domestic and international gateway for those visiting the area, as well as the country’s most common point of entry for people going on safari.

It is customary for your tour operator to take care of charter-flight bookings between parks as part of your tour package. There are no scheduled flights to Khwai.

Much of Khwai Concession can also be reached from Maun by 4x4 vehicle on a 2½- to 3-hour drive* (125km/78mi) along sand and dirt roads. During the Dry season (April to October), it’s also possible to drive from Moremi Game Reserve and the Savuti region of Chobe National Park. It can depend on water levels and track conditions, however.

*Driving times are only a rough indication. You should always consider the possibility of significant delays.
