Kirindy Forest can be visited at any time, but wildlife viewing is best from October to April. However, January to March is quite wet, hot and humid. Sometime in late October/November the mate and that is one of Madagascar’s true wildlife highlights. The exact timing though is very unpredictable. hibernate in the Dry season and are also mostly seen only after rain.

Best Time October to November (Fossas most active/mating)

High Season July/August and December holidays (The park gets busy)

Low Season January to March (The reserve is not busy)

Best Weather May to September (It is cooler and dry)

Worst Weather January to March (It rains a lot)

April to October Dry Season – Winter

Not much rain and access to the reserve is easy
Activities aren't interrupted by rain
Lemurs can be found throughout the year
Reptiles and amphibians are less active
Giant jumping rats hibernate
The park gets busy in July and August

November to March Wet Season – Summer

Best wildlife-viewing months
Reptiles are more active and colorful
Fossas usually mate between late October and late November
December to March is quite wet, hot and humid
The access road to the reserve might be in bad condition
