The most common entry point to the country is Ivato International Airport (TNR) in the capital city of Antananarivo (Tana). Most tours start with a transfer from the airport and a night in the city. Whether you’re driving or flying on from here, your tour operator will most likely make all the arrangements.

There are scheduled flights from Antananarivo to Morondava, the gateway town for Kirindy Forest.

Kirindy Forest is easily accessible by vehicle from Morondava. The drive takes you through the famous Avenue des Baobabs, which is just outside Morondava. The distance is about 60km/35mi and the driving time is 2 hours*.
