Largest of our game parks and again during the peak season it can get a bit busy.
Best time to visit I have found was during August - September time and I have spotted plenty of game during this time.

When I visited Kruger it was rather dry... and therefore brown and dusty...

Despite the crowds in certain areas (particularly around the larger rest stops like Skukuza) and the limitation to the roads, Kruger offers an amazing array of animals and great access to them. Talk to other travelers about locations for animal watching. Drive yourself through part of the park - there's a unique value to spotting that lion yourself.

Huge park with much variation. Lots to see if you are in the right part at the right time and a lot of camps to choose from or tour between.

Nice park, but can be very crowded in the south part. If you want more tranquility go half way or up north. Because of the asfalt roads you might have some trouble getting the real bush feeling, even if you do the gravel roads. Even these are easy traveling with any car. But overall still a must visit when you are in Africa. Don't bother doing the safari tours, you can do it all by your self in your own car. Spend your money on safaris in private game reserves.

It is South Africa's most popular park to visit. The weather is nice all year round making it very popular and making it the best game park in RSA if not the world .Game is plentiful in the park and making it possible to see the Big 5.Time is needed if one is really to enjoy beauty of the scenery, there is just too much to see.The park also offers night drives which is an awesome experience on its own.The park on a whole is well maintained. The accommodation and catering is of high standard.

We saw the big five within 1.5 hour. A real sensation was to see a group of a hundred buffaloes coming to the drinking place. Dust was coming up like you know from a cowboy movie. At an other drinking place the zebra's were waiting for theire turn at the drinking place at the moment that the elephants were drinking and washing.

The possibility of seeing virtually any animal is always exciting. The fascination of being able to see just about any behaviour is also a bonus.
The park is so immense that it is impossible to rate all of it's scenery. There are certainly parts that are exceptionally beautiful, but others that can be monotonous.
The vibe can vary from completely brilliant to very frustrating, depending on the tourist season and business. There always parts where one can get away though and be alone in the bush.
The birding can be absolutely exceptional, again always with the excitement of the possibility of virtually anything turning up.
