The best time to visit the Kwando Concession depends on your reasons for being here. For general wildlife viewing, the best months are June to October. Kwando lies along a migration route for elephant, zebra and other herbivores. These animals arrive around June, and they usually stay until around December. For birding, the best months are November to April, when migrant species are present.

  • These are the best months for birders, with migrants present and many birds in breeding plumage

  • The scenery is typically lush and green, and there are many flowers

  • Daytime temperatures can be very hot
  • Activities may be interrupted by afternoon showers or thunderstorms
  • Some roads can be impassable after heavy rains
