Masai Mara was by far the best park to visit on our trip. The park is rather flat, making it easy to leave paths at times; to see some special animals. Lots of lions, elephants, zebras, antilope etc. A great park where one can truly see so much. Definitely recommend this park to anyone going for the first time, but even if you're an avid safari-goer, this park is a beautiful landscape.

The Mara is like a 'theme park' of wildlife. It was teaming with animals and we managed to see just about everything there was (other than a very shy rhino one evening). Our driver, Antony, was a font of knowledge and so accommodating - we had to cancel our first drive due to tiredness from a bad flight to Kenya. He was so patient with us. He picked us up in Nairobi and dropped us back, as well as all the game drives. It was great to do that, as there is so much to see and learn along the way. It's about a 6hr journey though, so be prepared... next time, we will fly, but I'd recommend the car trip at leas once. During the safari we came across lions feeding on a warthog, every possible animal and bird we could wish for (CLOSE UP) and a cheetah having a gazelle stolen from it by two hyena. Real life, real nature, right under our noses. We saw cheetahs, a leopard, giraffe, elephant, zebra and wildebeest (thousands) and, and and... the list goes on. The Entim Mara camp we stayed in was brilliantly located, in sight of the Mara river and bathing Hippos. It was definitely 5* luxury and worth every penny. Highly recommended. The food, drinks and service were very good. An amazing, unforgettable experience.

Very large area, so even though animal herds can be equally enormous, it can feel "emptier" than Amboseli. THE place to spot big cats, with lots of lions and cheetahs.

Being a popular tourist destination it’s hard to enjoy the sightings as there are marred by the dozens of other vehicles maneuvering for the best shot. This takes away from the wild element unless you’re the first vehicle to spot the animal. But the changing landscapes are breathtaking, especially for sundowners or morning coffee in the bush.

Almost all the animals you watch on safari can be watched in this majestic savannah.
Drivers use extreme caution to watch predators so you can watch them easily.

For budget travellers, camp lodge is near the Oloolamutia gate, eastern one.
It takes 5 hours drive to the site and for the last hour, it is necessary to go through an unpaved road.
From the gate, the safari area is eastern Mara river, which is very huge savannah.
You can visit also Kenya-Tanzania border site.
