Lake Mburo National Park is located in western Uganda and usually visited on a tour. It is often included as a one- or two-night stop when driving between the capital city Kampala or nearby Entebbe and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Lake Mburo is 230km/140mi from Kampala or 250km/155mi from Entebbe, which is a drive of around 5 to 6 hours*. The distance from Lake Mburo to Bwindi is 225km to 275km (140mi to 170mi), depending on which gorilla trekking base you are headed to. The drive from Lake Mburo to Bwindi takes about 5 to 7 hours*.

Entebbe International Airport (EBB) is 46km/29mi from Kampala. This will be your entry point into Uganda. Your local tour operator will usually arrange for your pickup from the airport or hotel and all further transportation as part of your safari package.

Domestic Flights

Tour operators usually book domestic flights for you as part of your safari package. It is very unusual for visitors to fly to Mbarara, the closest town to Lake Mburo, but scheduled flights can be booked directly through AeroLink. From Mbarara, the 55km/34mi road trip takes just over 1 hour*.
