The bush walk inside Lake Mburo was the best highlight as well as the lodge we stayed.

Exellent because of the beauty of the place, the walk and the night safaris give to it another dimension. Nice place to stay (Rwakobo Rock).

Was the best of the already excellent nature parks we visited. Birds were easy to spot. Animals were plenty. Every thing was well organised. Our night drive was excellent!

Really enjoyed Lake Mburo! Didn't have high expectations, as I really just thought of it as a stop off on the way down to Beindi but I live this park! There was a different sighting around every corner, beautiful scenery and so many ways to see it depending on which lodge you chose to stay in. Would recommend two nights there easily.

Driving through the park without any specific game drives at dusk or dawn we saw many animals beside the road. It was a very remote and natural bush experience.

Lake Mburo, closest park to see wildlife near Kampala the Capital of Uganda
Overall rating
5/5

Lake Mburo is a wonderful and exiting escape from busy Kampala where one can camp (budget or upscale) or overnight at the park Head Quarters. Ranger Moses is waiting for you to take you on either a foot safari, a drive safari or a boat ride on the lake itself. This park has a selection of game to view ranging from zebra and impale to eland and buffalo. Leopards are also sen there. There is no lion but hyena's can be heard. Topi can also be seen there. For birds there is an abundance in the bush and near the lake. Fish eagles, kingfishers, red bishops are among them and if one is lucky a shoebill stork can be spotted near the hippo's or the sitatunga. Relaxing ate the lake is basic and so is the food at the restaurant there. A sundown with a beer in hand takes for a great evening start before going to sleep among the animals.

Very beautiful place with the Mantana Luxury Camp overlooking the lake. Here we saw many zebras! Peaceful, relaxing and away from mass tourism.
