Mokolodi Nature Reserve is 12km/7mi south of Botswana’s capital, Gaborone. The park is an easy day trip from the city and popular with business travelers and expats.

It is possible to drive to Mokolodi from Gaborone, and you can either self-drive in the park or take a guided two-hour safari. It is also possible to take a bus from the city, which drops you 1.5km/1mi from the park entrance.

Botswana’s main airport, Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (GBE), is 11km/7mi north of Gaborone. Your tour operator will usually meet you there and organize further transportation for you. Alternatively, you might be able to pick up a 4x4 vehicle at the airport if you have booked a self-drive safari.
