Hard to believe that this amount of wildlife is with in the city limits. It was amazing to see so many different species of animals grazing together on hillsides. A very easy day trip.

We visited the Shelbourne Elephant Sanctuary. A wonderful addition to our trip and commitment to animal conservation.

We spent an afternoon on a game drive in Nairobi National Park with Wasilikenya Safaris the day before returning to the UK. It was wonderful! The driver guide, Clement, successfully concentrated on finding animals we hadn't seen earlier in our trip and it was amazing. Highlight was when we saw five rhinos sleeping next to each other in a line!

Nairobi NP doesn't have elephants but it has all the others you want to see. It is completely unique to see animals in their natural environment with the Nairobi skyline as a backdrop and 'planes taking off from the nearby airport. The park is much quieter than others so there are not loads of jeeps full of tourists all racing to a particular spot where an animal has been sighted. It was a brilliant end to our holiday and highly recommended.

The Perfect Introduction to Africa

Nairobi National Park was the first stop on my three week trip to Africa and it was the perfect introduction to the safari experience. We saw two prides of lions, a serval with kittens, several white rhinos including some with babies, giraffe, zebra, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, ostrich, a huge troop of baboons, warthogs and a wide variety of antelope. Its herd sizes and scenery are not quite at the level of the Maasai Mara but all the iconic animals except elephants are here and easy to see.
