There is no other place I have found in the region with the spectacular scenery of the crater. The crater wall makes such a superb backdrop for the wildlife resident there.

Saw all the wildlife you can imagine in one place, very scenic

Beautiful place, with animals so used to the vehicles the lions even fell asleep leaning on one of the vehicles. Which really sums it up - so many tourists that they are used to being watched - for every lion a convoy of jeeps would appear.

Overall a good experience, but to see Tanzania you really need to get away to one of the more isolated parks such as Selous or Ruaha. We visited with Specialist Tanzania who organised an excellent holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend both the country and the company.

A place frozen in time - trying to preserve these endangered species.

Very interesting place. It's like all in one. Better in off-peak season, because is the only place in Tanzania where you can see too many westerners per square meter.

The crater adds to the surreality of the experience.

The safari drives were very good, with zebra, wildebeest, elephant, hippo, flamingo, topi, crowned crane, bateleur eagle, kori bustard, hyena, augur buzzard, water buffalo and a very fat lioness with her recent kill. We were also lucky enough to catch a rare glimpse of a black rhino.

This is a busy busy Northern circuit favourite! You wont be alone unless you risk march to may when its raining and u may get stuck! Has become expensive for foreign tourist all of a sudden in park fees! Eden on earth a Must go to destination.
I stay at the Lutheran Hostel in Karatu not Arusha then its easier n cheaper! Even when you want to combine serengeti with Ngorongoro(same road) Try stayin at Lutheran Hostel it covers basics and good night sleep, unless you are highend ofcourse!
