Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve can easily be included in any tour itinerary of Malawi or visited as a breakaway destination from the capital Lilongwe.

You will probably fly into the country via Kamuzu International Airport (LLW). It is 26km/16mi from Lilongwe. Some international flights fly to Chileka International Airport (BLZ), which is 16km/10mi from Blantyre.

Nkhotakota is in central Malawi, about 220km/136mi north of Lilongwe and 400km/250mi from Blantyre. The drive from Lilongwe takes about 5 hours* and from Blantyre it’s 6 to 7 hours*.
