So large and at times we felt like we were the only people in the world (along with all the animals)

Not every animal chose to appear for us, but we were able to get close to an incredibly diverse range of animals and birds. Our guide was highly professional and knowledgeable and really enhanced our understanding of what we were seeing.

We didn’t see any lions. We had 3 days of rain before we arrived. We were told that the lions lay low during raining spells. Otherwise we would have given 5 stars.

Great place. Harder to spot some animals because of the jungle and bushes in the area but such a cool place to have visited.

Just avoid this park (at least in rainy season). I don't know how it is in dry season. No animals, terrible roads , and 7 hours drive from Dar Es Salaam. A proper nightmare.

It were not the big five but maybe in the other national parks. We were in the wrong national park to see them.
This were the first safari and visit in Tansania .It was a great visit in this national park and we saw many another animals.
Our expectations were perhaps too high because we didn't get proper information before the tour.
The animals do what they want and not what we want.

Was so excited to visit Nyerere NP Tanzania, but was a bit disappointed as we could not spot even a single Lion, Leopard or Hyena in 3 day safari. I was surprised to find a fresh dead deer, with no vultures in sight. Although, there were a lot of Hippos & elephants, but even Zebras & wild beast were not easily spotted, adding further to disappointment. Yes we saw a lot of Giraffe, baboons & impala. Keeping in view the history, reports & size of Nyerere NP, it was just an average visit. No lions, no tourists attraction.

All tour operators harassing the wildlife, likely because we saw very few animals and they wanted to make tourists happy but it was wrong.

Nyerere National Park is very large. Wildlife is very present there. You can see many animals (elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, etc.).
However, the BIG 5 will be more difficult to see. Already because of the size of the park, so you sometimes have to travel long distances. Also because the rhino is endangered and is therefore much rarer on the continent in general. Otherwise, the landscapes are truly magnificent, the calm and the sounds of wildlife are exactly like those you could see/hear in a TV report.
Talking to other tourists who have visited the Serengeti or Ngorongoro national parks in northern Tanzania, we understand that the experience is different (the number of animals in the north is greater than in Nyerere). However, the wonder is identical :)
A small positive point during the visit to Nyerere Park, I had the chance to bathe in hot springs. A little scary but also super relaxing. I absolutely recommend visiting this park!
