Excellent experience with Kiliclimb Africa
5/5

Embarking on a journey with Moses and Kiliclimb Africa was nothing short of extraordinary. Our group entrusted our Kilimanjaro ascent to Moses and Kiliclimb Africa, and they exceeded all expectations.

Throughout the climb, Moses's guidance was invaluable. His extensive knowledge of the terrain and the climb itself reassured us at every step. He prioritized our safety without compromising the adventure, making each day memorable and fulfilling. Reaching the summit was an exhilarating triumph, made possible by Moses's leadership and the support from the whole Kiliclimb Africa team. His genuine care for each member of our group fostered a sense of camaraderie and gratitude that enriched the experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend Moses and Kiliclimb Africa to anyone seeking a transformative adventure; we are forever grateful for the opportunity to summit Kilimanjaro under their guidance!

The highest recommendation for: 1) Price; 2) Safety; 3) Experience; 4) Flexibility; 5) Friendship.
5/5

I want to give Moses Yohanes and his team at Kili Climb Africa Safaris the strongest endorsement. He delivers an exceptional experience on price (very competitive), safety (he has summited Kili over 250 times), quality (his meals, for example, are delicious), and heart (a warm Tanzanian who radiates service and love for people).

We learned about Moses from our neighbor in New York who had climbed Kilimanjaro with Moses in 2015. She also gave Moses the highest recommendation. So we asked him to lead our family to Kili and guide an African safari. My wife and I are in our 60s and our two kids in their twenties. Even though we had researched the hike, trained for months, purchased the right gear, we still encountered unexpected difficulties. But deep into the mountains Moses assessed our situation, modified his plan, and helped us summit Kilimanjaro on August 21, 2023. And just as important, despite our exhaustion, he safely led the descent from base camp at 15,500 feet to the gate almost 10,000 feet below. (Reaching the summit is one thing, getting down safely when exhausted another.) We danced with his team, shared meals together, learned about his passions (he even sponsors a non-profit for helping disadvantaged children), and ate ice cream with his family at the hotel.

After summiting Kili, he led a 4-day safari through the Ngorongoro Crater as well as Tarangire and Serengeti National Parks. That his expert driver could navigate the tangle of nameless dirt roads crisscrossing the expansive Serengeti speaks to his 25-years of experience. We saw the big five—elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and rhinoceros. And we spent our nights at comfortable lodging—from the Farm of Dreams to luxurious platform tents overlooking the park—enjoying meals and resting for the next day.

Whether climbing Kili or exploring the parks, his ability to produce tables, chairs, and delicious meals—by a trail on Kili or the shade of a tree in the park—was pure magic. Just one example of the many ways in which Moses will surprise and delight you.

For all these reasons—price, safety, experience, flexibility, and friendship—I give Moses Yohanes the highest recommendation. You may find someone as good if you are lucky, but not better. Whatever your circumstances, you can trust Moses to lead the way to the summit or park and bring you home safely. Stephen Lambert, Ph.D.

A smooth, enjoyable experience
5/5

The service and reliability of the tour was fantastic. The experience went exactly as hoped for, with fantastic value for money. However the best part was the interactions with the tour guides themselves. The experience was not only smooth, but also enjoyable and enriching!

With kiliclimb I visited Serengeti national park and learned a lot about the local wildlife and treasures. My guide, Moses, was very informative and approachable and I spent considerable time learning from him and talking with him alongside my friends.

Moses Yohanes is an excellent Kilimanjaro guide
5/5

My wife and I successfully climbed Kilimanjaro (Lemosho route) in 2021 with Moses Yohanes as our chief guide, and highly recommend him.

He, and the rest of the crew, did everything they were supposed to do, and that you expect them to do, but they also did a lot of other - sometimes small, but nonetheless very important stuff - that went above and beyond, and showed us that they have a lot of experience with this.

Just as an example, after one or two days, two of the Porters waited for us 15 minutes before camp, and carried our daypacks the last bit. It sounds like a ridiculously small thing, but seeing them there in the distance, and knowing that another days trek was almost over, gave us a big boost.

And every day, when the porters walked past us with all the heavy equipment, they were chatting, smiling, laughing and joking (even while climbing Baranco Wall) which forced us to not feel sorry for ourselves when we were tired and our small daypacks felt heavy.

Most important was our two guides, Moses (Chief) and Aloyce (Assistant), who we spent a lot of time with. Both on the trek, telling us about the mountain, the flora, the fauna, and in camp at night telling us about life, history, culture, politics of Tanzania.

Moses was very serious about the preparations (briefing, equipment, clothing etc) which made us feel safe, and Aloyce was whistling/singing and taking small dance-steps while trekking, which made the long hours of walking a lot more enjoyable.

I was amazed at how much physical strength but also mental power our guides had. They were constantly observing us closely, monitoring our pace, reminding us to sip water, warning about slippery paths, rocks you could hit your head/knee on, etc. And if our foot slipped, a hand was quickly there to support.

We only had to concentrate on breathing and walking, and admiring the beautiful scenery.

It is so amazing up there, with the glacier, the crater, the ice, the view below and over to Mt Meru. I am so happy we had time to see and enjoy it all, as we slowly made our way to the peak, while Moses captured the incredible moment for us on video with my mobile.

We hope a lot more climbers will benefit from having Moses to guide them.

One of the best weeks of my life was spent with Moses climbing Kilimanjaro.
5/5

Each part of the experience was impeccable from planning the route, logistics, wisdom of the landscape surrounding the rift area, the animals, and of course the great mountain of Kilimanjaro. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience Moses!
