Great experience for a once only trip
So. Don’t expect a room on arrival if you’ve travelled all night ! So tired ! But the staff are lovely and rooms are all you need. Food is plentiful in the main buffet but try the other restaurants.
Safari was amazing. The guides were exceptional. But this is not a trip for young children. A French family with a child that wouldn’t listen to the guides almost spoilt our whole trip. But. Overall a great experience.

Amazing Safari
We booked a 12 day safari trip. We stayed for 2 nights at the Reef and Beach Hotel in Zanzibar, then flew to Tanzania for 3 nights, then went back to Zanzibar for 7 nights. There were some early mornings and we weren’t given many specific details about what to expect, which would have been helpful. But everything worked well when it happened. We went on 2 full day game drives, which were amazing. There were only 4-6 people in each jeep. We saw giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, zebras, monkeys, lions, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, impala and one very shy leopard. All up close - absolutely amazing! Our guide Oscar was excellent but be prepared for long, hot days of very bumpy rides. We stayed in a bush bungalow at Africa Safari Selous. They were lovely but they are in the middle of the bush so be prepared for mosquitos and other wildlife and limited WiFi. The selection of food was slightly limited but delicious. Masai tribesmen are always around the camp and walk you back to your room at night. They also dance around the fire pit at night, which was great to watch. Our hotel in Tanzania was lovely too. It was set around a mangrove forest where Red Colobus monkeys live and they wander around the grounds - very cute. There was a really good selection of delicious food, including Swahili options at the buffet restaurant. Or you could go the the a la carte restaurant for an extra cost. We paid £56 for a 3 course meal for 2 including lobster. The jetty bar is beautiful, with lovely views of the Indian Ocean and you can swim from there when the tide is in. There isn’t really a beach to sit on. But you can explore the rock pools when the tide is out. All airport transfers were private in good quality cars, but the roads are awful with lots of pot holes so it does take a while to drive anywhere. Everyone was very friendly and smiley. Staff at the hotels were very helpful. It would have been useful to know that you would need a separate bag for the safari and the weight limit is 15kg. Also that you need to check out of your hotel in Zanzibar when you go on safari so when you arrive back early in the morning you need to check in again and will have to wait several hours for a room. Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the holiday and value for money. It exceeded all our expectations.

Professional, reliable, excellent guide!
We had a 5-day safari with Idris as our guide and we were extremely happy with it! All communication prior to departure was swift and clear, they adapted our itinerary to suit our preferences, and we could pay in euro to their NL account, which was very convenient. All the lodges were very comfortable and run by the tour company itself, so the standard was high throughout the trip and value for money was great. Security and escorts were provided after dark at the campsites, in case of any wildlife. Last but certainly not least, Idris has exceptional game spotting skills and is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. He made the nervous among the group feel at ease, and succeeded in helping us spot the big 5 and countless others!

Well organised, magical and memorable safari trip
Our holiday was a beach and safari mix. We had 2 nights on Zanzibar then 3 nights on safari at Selous Tanzania then back to Zanzibar for a final 2 nights. Everything was well organised. When we landed in Tanzania at 6.30am the jeeps were waiting to pick us up. We went straight on a full day safari - was amazing but a tiring day. The Selous camp was just as i imagined very rustic - each couple sleeping in their own hut with own ensuite and large 4 poster bed. The electricity was limited and lighting not ever very bright but this added to the magic of the experience. Everything was very clean and you always felt safe as security was good. There was a swimming pool to use which was very welcome as it was clean and refreshing.
The 2nd day morning was a boat trip on the river where we saw mainly crocodiles and hippos - again well organised and just amazing. In the afternoon we had an hours bush walk with a guide and a maasai man who taught us lots about the plants and trees in the area. This was again well organised and very interesting. Day 3 was another full day safari which allowed us to see what we missed on day 1 - but as we saw lots on Day 1 for us this felt rather repetitive- but as we were with a different guide we had a totally different experience which helped
We would definitely recommend the safari it was excellent value for money very well organised, breath taking and memorable in every way.
We had the pleasure of a local male elephant wandering into camp twice whilst we were there the Maasai men and camp security kept us all safe whilst allowing us to be close enough to get brilliant photos - this added to our experience where we made memories to last a lifetime

A varied experience, loved the safari- but was hungry, beach was great and rested with better food.
Loved the safari experience- the animals and the tour was amazing. The guide and people too, were fantastic. The food for lunch and dinner whilst on safari was poor. Make use of the amazing ingredients to make beautiful meals as opposed to trying to make western meals poorly.
Beach was amazing. As we're all staff.

The start was hard but then everthing was perfect :):):)
It was our best holiday ever. For us everthing was perfect. Tansania is so beautiful and the inhabitant are so friendly. Our two tourguides (Muktar and Christopher) were the best.

Exceptional Safari Experience with Beach & Safari: A Memorable Adventure from Start to Finish
The organization by Beach & Safari on-site was fantastic! Timings, pickups, and other details were always clearly communicated, keeping us well-informed about the next day's plans. The local crews were incredibly service-oriented—simply outstanding! They always found solutions and even provided breakfast if our morning hike at Lake Natron took longer than expected. The drivers were punctual, handing us over to local guides for excursions and picking us up as planned. We always felt well taken care of.
We were delighted by the warm welcome at Zanzibar airport from Beach & Safari, who informed us we could stay in touch via WhatsApp. At the hotel, our guide promptly reached out, offering excursion suggestions, sending reminders for our pickups, and providing excellent support.
1) Arusha Lodge Beautiful lodge with a very friendly team—Gertrud does an excellent job organizing everything locally! The crew's service and the food were both exceptional.
2) Lake Natron Stunning lodge with unique service and excellent food! Giraffes walked just 200 meters from the lodge. Sunrise hike with the Maasai along the lake with zebras and giraffes was breathtaking.
3) Lake Manyara If not for the flooding (as shown in the videos I sent), it would have been simply idyllic! Unfortunately, we could only use the restaurant and about a quarter of the tents. Glamping was a highlight, despite only having hippos outside the tent as other animals don't like to swim😊. The lodge itself, when not flooded, is beautiful with excellent service and food.
Safaris We visited Tarangire National Park, where we saw many animals—truly beautiful and fascinating! The Ngorongoro Crater safari was also unique; we saw all the Big Five except the leopard. Our driver, Shana, was excellent and provided a great experience. It was a wonderful adventure for us!
Thank you for making our trip so memorable!
