Thank you for making our safari experience so perfect.
Thank you Crater Explorer for making our safari experience so perfect. Special thanks to our tour guide Innocent who was very professional and nice and to our chef Calvin who took care of our stomachs for the whole time. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend to everyone. Really hope to see you again.

Safari of a lifetime!
Our Tanzania experience wouldn’t have ever been complete without a safari. Thanks to Crater Explorer and our dear guide Samuel, we had an unforgettably beautiful 4-day trip. We had a blast. Asante sana for your kindness, warm heart, smiles and passion for animals! Also a big thanks for the cook for cooking nice meals! We will never forget this and the black rhino and whole group of lions and cubs was beyond our dreams and we were so lucky to be able to see them! thanks SO much for everything guys!🙏🏻

Helpful, kind, always available!
Organising the tour through Crater was super easy. Emanuel was very present and communicative even before we arrived.
He arranged pick up from the airport and a hotel for the night before the safari.
We did the 6 day tour which included Ngorongoro crater, Serengeti National Park, Manyara Lake and Tanrangire National Park . What an experience. Our driver knew where to go to get the best views of the animals, plus we had a bit of luck on our side.
Camping we stayed at during the tour was organized, and people always kind!
So... Hakuna Matata, with Emanuel worth.

Hard but Great Experience
I participated in a 3-night, 4-day tour in August. I wanted to travel to Serengeti and Ngorongoro, so I requested quotes from over 10 companies and chose this one as the most affordable option.
We visited Serengeti on the first and second days, Ngorongoro on the third day, and Tarangire on the final day. We were fortunate to see all of the Big Five animals, and we were able to capture moments of lions and elephants passing right in front of our vehicle.
Our dedicated chef prepared our meals. In the morning, we had light snacks and could make our favorite drinks with hot water from a thermos. At lunchtime, the chef packed the meals in a cooler box for us to bring along, and we enjoyed warm dishes in the evening. Everything was delicious.
For the tour transportation, they offered us complimentary transfers from the hotel in Arusha where we stayed the night before, to the hotel near Kilimanjaro Airport where we were supposed to stop after the tour. We had already booked hotels for before and after the tour, but it seems they have partner hotels and can arrange accommodations for the pre- and post-stays at a discounted or even free rate.
Thank you for the wonderful experience.
They provided plenty of bottled water, so there was no need to worry.
For those considering a similar tour in the future, here are some tips:
1. Showers may not have hot water and the availability may be limited. It's advisable to bring body wipes, and remember to bring your own towel. However, there might not be a place to dry them.
2. There were toilets without toilet paper, so it's good to bring your own.
3. Camping in tents for the entire trip can be physically challenging. Upgrading for some nights might be a good option.
4. Be cautious of dust as you may encounter a lot of it throughout the trip. Pay attention to your backpack and clothing.
5. Nights in Serengeti and Ngorongoro can be cold, so you will need a long-sleeve shirt, sweater, and a light coat.
6. Since there is no electricity in the tents, having a flashlight can be helpful. One that can be hung inside the tent will be useful.
7. Traveling on gravel roads may cause motion sickness. It's good to have motion sickness tablets. We also used insect repellent, cold medicine, and anti-diarrheal medication.
8. You may feel unwell from sunburn, so apply sunscreen. It's good to have a hat and sunglasses.
9. The customary tip for the chef and guide is $10 per person per day, so factor that into the estimated cost.

Great value for money and extremely helpful
Organising the tour through Crater was super easy. Emanuel was very communicative and easy to deal with before we arrived.
They arranged pick up from the airport and a hotel on either side of the tour, which took all the hassle out of travel.
We did the 3 day tour which included Ngorongoro crater, manyara lake and tanrangire national park. What an experience. Our driver knew where to go to get the best views of the animals, plus we had a bit of luck on our side.
The hotel we stayed at during the tour was amazing, really luxurious. A special treat overlooking the lake.
My kids and I had the best experience, once in a lifetime. Crater were brilliant value for money, starting out as an organisation and tried hard to ensure we enjoyed every minute. Relaxed and easy going too, which was a bonus.

The trip worth taking
I would definitely recommend Crater Explorer as a tour company for your safari experience. It was my second time with them on a joining group safari and everything went as smoothly as I expected based on my previous experience. Communication with Emanuel is clear and easy, he answers very promptly and is flexible in listening your wishes for the safari regarding parks, accommodations, flight arrivals etc. Also our safari guide Charles was absolutely amazing!! He drives super well so you feel safe in the car and it doesn't brake. He had huge knowledge about the animals and was willing to answer any questions, also related to Tanzania and the culture. This was highly appreciated! We had many fun and interesting lunch breaks and conversations while driving. He also knew where the animals are and we were lucky enough to see the big 5! The lodges and rented camps are absolute 5 star service and everyone makes sure that your experience is the best possible. Vegetarian food is easily available when asked. The hotel before/after safari in Arusha wasn't that great, but you can also request an upgrade from Emanuel if you wish. The Jeep can be quite tight with 7 guests and a driver, but if you talk to each other, you could arrange different seating on different days. No matter what, everyone has access to roof and window so you can see and take a lot of pictures! :) We didn't all stay in the same camps so sometimes you need to drive from one sleeping place to another, however, on the way you see animals and more of the parks, and personally I thought it was great to see also how the camping places looked like since we stayed in lodges.
Thank you again Crater Explorer, Emanuel, and Charles!! I'm quite sure I'll be back for the third time...
Friendly professional team for a unique experience
I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a four-day safari in Tanzania, organized by Emanuel and his exceptional team. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Emanuel's meticulous attention to detail and his team's dedication to providing an unforgettable adventure were evident in every aspect of the trip.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Emanuel and his team. Their friendliness and enthusiasm set the tone for the entire safari. They took the time to ensure that we were comfortable and well-informed about the itinerary, which immediately put us at ease. Throughout the four days, their hospitality and genuine care for our well-being were consistently demonstrated.
The accommodations arranged by Emanuel and his team were excellent. We stayed in a mix of lodges and hotels, each offering its unique charm and comfort. The lodges were nestled in stunning locations, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking landscapes of Tanzania. The hotels provided a perfect blend of luxury and relaxation, ensuring we were well-rested and ready for each day's adventures. The attention to detail in selecting these accommodations was evident, as they enhanced our overall experience significantly.
One of the highlights of the safari was, without a doubt, the game drives. Emanuel and his team were incredibly knowledgeable about the local wildlife and ecosystems. Their expertise made each game drive an educational and thrilling experience. We were fortunate to witness a diverse array of animals, from majestic lions and graceful giraffes to herds of elephants and elusive leopards. Emanuel's keen eye for spotting wildlife and his insightful commentary enriched our understanding and appreciation of Tanzania's natural wonders.
In addition to the incredible wildlife encounters, we were also treated to stunning landscapes and cultural experiences. Emanuel's team arranged visits to local communities, giving us a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Tanzania. These interactions were both humbling and enlightening, adding a meaningful dimension to our safari.
Traveling with my friend, we both agreed that this safari was one of the best experiences we've ever had. Emanuel and his team went above and beyond to ensure that every moment was memorable. Their professionalism, friendliness, and passion for what they do shone through in every aspect of the trip. We left Tanzania with our hearts full of gratitude and unforgettable memories.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Emanuel and his team for anyone considering a safari in Tanzania. Their exceptional service, attention to detail, and genuine care for their guests make them the perfect choice for an extraordinary adventure. Thank you, Emanuel, for an unforgettable safari experience!
